With more than 30 years of experience in the general insurance industry, Kylie is a Qualified Practising Insurance Broker (QPIB) who is passionate about delivering bespoke insurance solutions to her clients. Acting as a strong client advocate Kylie works consistently to negotiate the best risk protection and cover, including delivery of unique service solutions to enhance her client offerings.
Kylie values, maintains and respects the relationships she builds with insurers, underwriters, staff and clients continually striving to secure ethical and mutually beneficial outcomes for all involved in the insurance process.
Kylie is the Principal and owner of Guardsafe Insurance Broker, which specialises in bespoke insurance and risk solutions for the security industry and additional broad ranging occupations. With a 98% client retention rate, the results speak for themselves. Kylie prides herself on her ability to maintain and develop enduring and ethical client relationships that support her ability to deliver outstanding personalised service.

Kylie enjoys spending time out on her jet ski on weekends exploring Moreton Bay. Kylie also enjoys spending time with family, friends and her Cavoodle Theo.
I started Guardsafe in 2007 as there weren’t many broker that specialised in the Security Industry, and you really need to understand the Security Industry risks and protection that Security businesses need.
Prior to Guardsafe, I worked for many other Insurance Brokerages and Insurers in Queensland and New South Wales. My experience in the industry is more than 30 years.
As the Managing Director, I ensure that both the staff and our valued clients are well supported. We like to get to know and understand our customer’s businesses to ensure that we understand their Risk Exposures, assist with Risk Mitigation and then offer Insurance Solutions to protect them against their Risk Exposures.
Finding Insurance Solutions means researching the insurance market and then negotiating with Insurers to ensure that the Insurance products are suitable for our clients.
Claims Management is also something we do, ensuring we obtain the best outcome for our clients.
I really enjoy finding insurance solutions that are classed as “Hard to Place!” that perhaps customers haven’t been able to obtain elsewhere. It can be challenging but very rewarding when you find a solution and knowing that the client can rest easy knowing they are protected.
Running my own brokerage is very challenging but also very rewarding. I enjoy training and educating staff and watching their confidence grow. As any business owner knows there is a lot more responsibility running your own business.

Starting out 14 years ago I wasn’t sure whether I would be successful in starting a new business from the ground up but wanted to challenge myself after working for others for so many years. I also wanted to have flexibility at the time to ensure I was there for my young son. After 12 months I knew I was in the making of creating a successful business. It just drove me more and I’m proud of what I have achieved.

My very first full-time job was as a Paging operator, the days before mobiles. You got to chat to a lot of people, but they were always messages for others. Honestly, it was quite boring so I didn’t last long and ended up as a Receptionist at an Insurance Brokerage…..
